This practical training is designed to help the working horticultural professional and covers:
  • South Florida plant identification; bedding plants, perennials, trees, shrubs, palms, foliage, vines, groundcovers, and grasses
  • Landscape design, installation, irrigation, and best management practices
  • Soils, fertilizers, mulches
  • Proper pruning techniques
  • Turfgrass selection and maintenance
  • Pest identification and integrated pest management
  • Using plants indoors
  • Business practices and laws that affect horticulture
  • Plant propagation and production
  • Exam preparation
 Who will benefit from this course? Anyone with a hunger for more plant knowledge. Men and women employed in garden centers, landscape maintenance firms, landscape contractors, designers, golf courses, property managers, nurseries, pest control companies, etc.

This 16 week series is endorsed by the Florida Nursery Growers & Landscape Association, Inc. (FNGLA) and follows the new "Horticulture Professional" textbook. The cost of the book and the on-line test are separate from this tuition.
