This practical training is designed to help the working horticultural professional and covers:

bulletSouth Florida plant identification: annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, palms, foliage, and grasses
bulletLandscape design, installation, irrigation, and best management practices
bulletHorticultural problem solving
bulletLaws, ordinances, bonds, licenses that affect our business
bulletFertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, organics, etc.
bulletProper pruning techniques
bulletPlant anatomy and biology
bulletExam preparation

Who will benefit from this course? Men and women employed in garden centers, landscape maintenance firms, landscape contractors, designers, golf courses, property managers, nurseries etc.

This 14 week course is endorsed by the Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association, Inc. (FNGLA) and follows the 400+ page reference manual. The cost of the manual and the on-line test are separate from this tuition. Call FNGLA at 1-800-375-3642 to order your manual or log onto http://www.fngla.org/certification/FCHP.asp . Upon successful completion of the test, the student becomes an FNGLA Certified Horticulture Professional (FCHP).

When: Thursday nights from 6:15 pm to 9:00 pm. Starts August 7th and ends November 6th.

Where: Eagle's Nest Academy, 6920 Immokalee Road, 1 mi E. of I-75 (exit 111) on the south side
